Innovation Sandbox Contest 2016 finalists announced

RSA Conference announced the 10 finalists for its annual Innovation Sandbox Contest. The competition is dedicated to encouraging out-of-the-box ideas and the exploration of new technologies that have the potential to transform the information security industry.

Innovation Sandbox

On Monday, February 29, 2016, each of this year’s finalists demonstrate its technology to conference attendees, as well as a judging panel that includes:

  • Asheem Chandna, partner at Greylock Partners
  • Gerhard Eschelbeck, VP of security and privacy engineering at Google
  • Renee Guttman, CISO for Royal Caribbean International
  • Patrick Heim, head of trust and security at Dropbox
  • Paul Kocher, president and chief scientist of cryptography research division at Rambus.

The finalists also deliver a short presentation to the judges, who determine “RSA Conference 2016’s Most Innovative Startup.”

The finalists are:

Bastille Networks

Bastille is the first company to detect and mitigate the rapidly emerging threats to enterprises that are the unintended consequence of the Internet of Things. Using next-generation sensors and software, Bastille gives enterprises full situational awareness by scanning the entire radio spectrum.

illusive networks

illusive networks pioneers deception-based post-breach cybersecurity with its patent pending Deceptions Everywhere technology that neutralizes targeted attacks and APTs by creating a deceptive layer across the entire network — agentlessly deployed on every endpoint, server and network component with information that deceives would-be attackers.

Menlo Security

Menlo Security protects organizations against cyber attacks from the Web, email and other critical threat vectors. The company’s patented Isolation Platform isolates all content and eliminates malware in the cloud, providing users with a completely transparent and safe experience without the need to deploy and update software to their endpoints.

Phantom

Phantom is the 1st Purpose-Built, Community-Powered Security Automation & Orchestration Platform. It makes your security smarter, faster and stronger.

Prevoty

Prevoty is dedicated to securing enterprises and the users they serve, monitoring and protecting the applications that are the heart of modern business. Prevoty’s products provide real-time application security intelligence and RASP (Runtime Application Self-Protection) capabilities for enterprises.

ProtectWise

ProtectWise is disrupting the network security industry with its Cloud Network DVR, a virtual camera in the cloud that records everything on the network, which allows security professionals to see threats in real time and retrospectively for complete detection and visibility of enterprise threats.

SafeBreach

Funded by Sequoia Capital and Shlomo Kramer, SafeBreach is a pioneer in the emerging category of breach validation. The company’s groundbreaking platform provides a “hacker’s view” of an enterprise’s security posture for total and continuous security assessment, validation and reporting.

Skyport Systems

Skyport Systems’ SkySecure provides secure enclaves for the applications businesses care about most with the first turn-key and security-embedded platform in the commercial marketplace. By re-architecting compute, security, and virtualization into a single technology stack, your data stays on-premise, while mission-critical IT and assets remain safe.

Vera

Vera secures enterprise data in a world without borders or controlled endpoints. Vera delivers a first-of-its-kind zero-touch, zero-friction data protection and encryption solution to businesses of all types and sizes. Vera enables enterprises to secure, track and audit any digital information across all users, devices, applications and platforms in real-time — all without impacting end user choice or experience. With Vera, security and policy travels with data wherever it goes enabling enterprises to retain complete control and visibility over who can access their sensitive information and what they can do to that information, even allowing them to revoke access to data instantly. Vera works seamlessly with all desktop, mobile, storage and collaboration platforms.

Versa Networks

Versa Networks enables service providers and enterprises to transform security for WANs and branch networks through virtualized network functions, providing unmatched agility, cost savings and flexibility vs. the traditional security hardware of legacy players.
