F-Secure Integrates Products with HP OpenView VantagePoint

Access, Operation through HP’s Enterprise Management System Enables More Efficient, Effective Management of Network Security

Helsinki, Finland, April 10, 2001 – F-Secure Corp., a leading provider of centrally managed security solutions for the mobile, distributed enterprise, today announced integration of its F-Secure products with the HP OpenView VantagePoint enterprise management system [EMS] from Hewlett-Packard.

By integrating F-Secure applications into HP OpenView VantagePoint, companies can now control most aspects of the applications through the familiar HP OpenView console, thus protecting their existing investment. F-Secure is believed to be the only security vendor offering true security suite integration for HP’s EMS platform.

Organizations that have standardized on HP OpenView can now use the popular HP framework to control and monitor most aspects of F-Secure’s software, from one or more management consoles across their enterprise. As a result, IT administrators can more effectively and efficiently manage their networks and all aspects of their security, while preserving their investments in HP OpenView VantagePoint.

Providing a unique integrated security suite of products for corporate networks, desktops and laptops, F-Secure combines the four essential areas of data security –file encryption, network encryption, malicious code protection, and firewall functionality– into one centrally managed solution. The purview of these security applications ranges from the laptop to the desktop, and includes firewalls, servers, Internet mail, WAP Gateways, and other elements that comprise the information infrastructure.

The applications include various configurations of F-Secure Distributed Firewall, F-Secure Anti-Virus, F-Secure FileCrypto, and F-Secure VPN+, all of which work seamlessly together to provide the maximum protection for enterprises with networks and mobile, remote, or temporarily connected workers.

In adding F-Secure Integration for HP OpenView VantagePoint to the company’s existing adaptations for BMC PATROL, Computer Associates’ Unicenter TNG, and Tivoli Enterprise offerings, F-Secure brings its security software into all of the leading enterprise-quality management frameworks.

Risto Siilasmaa, president and CEO of F-Secure Corporation said, “With the increasing importance of enterprise management systems, vendors with specialized expertise are well-advised to integrate their solutions into the frameworks of market leaders like Hewlett-Packard. In fact, most of the ISPs, ASPs and telecomm carriers are already using HP OpenView for systems management. These organizations typically have very large networks, often consisting of 10,000 to 50,000 managed nodes. With this integration product, F-Secure brings the robustness of the HP EMS and F-Secure security solutions to these business-critical service providers. This provides customers with the best of both worlds: optimizing their investments in expensive and often complex management tools, while taking advantage of best-of-breed security software.”

In addition to central management of security policies, integrating F-Secure products into HP OpenView VantagePoint enables administrators to identify, manage and easily distribute F-Secure software. Pricing is $10 per client, starting at 500 clients.
