SecurityFocus.com Secures Funding to Launch New Security Intelligence Services

SAN MATEO, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jan. 9, 2001– SecurityFocus.com, the leading provider of security intelligence services for business, today announced that it has closed on an additional $1 million of Series B funding, bringing the total Series B to $2.5 million. The capital was provided by a group of private angel investors. The company will use the funds to accelerate the launch of its next generation of security intelligence services.

Security intelligence encompasses the latest information about software vulnerabilities, viruses, breaking news and attacks, which enable companies to prevent security breaches. Without the benefit of security intelligence, attackers can go right through correctly configured security products and gain full access and control of companies’ data and information.

“We are excited about the launch of our new set of security intelligence services,” said Arthur Wong, chief executive officer of SecurityFocus.com. “This investment enables us to expand our leadership position beyond our existing licensing services and reach a broader base of customers.”

SecurityFocus.com has partnered with a number of leading security product and service providers to deliver security intelligence services to corporate customers. Partners include Articon Integralis, Counterpane Internet Security, Inc., Intrusion.com, METASeS, OneSecure, and Qualys.

The SecurityFocus.com vulnerability database is currently available for license globally on a subscription basis. The new security intelligence services are scheduled to roll out in the first quarter of 2001.
