InfoExpress Named a Winner of Network Computing’s 2001 Well-Connected Award
CyberArmor Suite 1.1 tops Desktop Firewall category, as the industries’ only policy-based, centrally-managed solution
Mountain View, CA, May 9, 2001 — InfoExpress, a pioneer in enterprise remote access security solutions, today announced that its CyberArmor Suite Enterprise Personal Firewall 1.1 has been named a winner of CMP Media LLC’s Network Computing for a 2001 Well-Connected Award in the category of Desktop Firewall. CyberArmor was chosen for its innovative centralized security policy management capability to protect corporate assets from various malicious Internet attacks. CyberArmor also offers the industry’s only environmentally sensitive policy- based solution. It can select the active policy by differentiating between users on the corporate network, when a remote VPN session is active, or when they are surfing the Internet.
“We’re thrilled to win this prestigious award from Network Computing,” said Stacey Lum, CEO of InfoExpress. “In addition to being a great honor, this award also validates the importance of providing strong protection for remote VPN users. Receiving it reaffirms the need for centralized management and policy based protection in enterprise personal firewalls.”
The winners of the Network Computing Well-Connected Awards were announced at a gala event on Monday, May 7th held at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, NV. All winners and finalists are highlighted in the May 14th issue of Network Computing and also on Network Computing Online at http://www.networkcomputing.com.
InfoExpress developed CyberArmor to address the risks that companies face when allowing remote systems to connect to their networks, especially though static IP high-speed Internet connections. CyberArmor’s primary purpose is to redefine enterprise security by placing security in the hands of systems administrators – not end users. The software lets them create security policies and enforce them onto the remote systems. The company plans to announce the next generation of CyberArmor this quarter.
“The Well-Connected Awards are given to products, technologies and services that have withstood testing in our Real-World Labs®, and proven to be essential to meeting business initiatives,” said Fritz Nelson, Publisher of CMP’s Network Computing. According to Nelson, “When a product receives a Well-Connected award, it is an important endorsement — it is the top in its category and carries through with its promise of excellence.”
