Intrusion.com Offers Four New Integrated, Secured by Check Point’ Appliances

RICHARDSON, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–July 23, 2001–

New PDS Series Covers the Breadth of Customer Needs from MSPs and

Enterprises to Remote Offices and Small Offices

Intrusion.com, Inc. (Nasdaq:INTZ), a leading provider of enterprise security solutions for the information-driven economy, today announced four new integrated security appliances at breakthrough price points.

Each appliance provides high performance, high-density security solutions that are expandable and easy to deploy.

The new appliance offerings, which complement the existing PDS 2100 and 2300, consist of the PDS 1110, PDS 5100, PDS 5300 and PDS 5500. The Intrusion.com PDS 1110 desktop appliance is pre-installed with Check Point Software Technologies’ (Nasdaq:CHKP) VPN-1(TM)/FireWall-1(R) SmallOffice software for remote/branch offices (ROBO) and standalone small offices with up to a T1/E1 level connection to the Internet. The PDS 5000 series are 1U, 19″ rack mountable appliances pre-installed with either Intrusion.com’s SecureNet Pro network intrusion detection system, or market-leading Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 for MSPs and enterprise applications with varied requirements for deployability and expandability in a high-density form factor.

“We are pleased to expand our long-standing partnership with Intrusion.com with the release of four new ‘Secured by Check Point’ appliances,” said Asheem Chandna, vice president of business development and product management for Check Point Software Technologies. “Intrusion.com appliance solutions deliver Check Point’s VPN/firewall security across large enterprise and service provider data centers, enterprise remote branch offices and stand-alone small offices.”

All Intrusion.com appliances use the same hardened Red Hat Linux operating system and Intrusion.com PDS Pilot 2.0 management software and use primarily common hardware components. This enables companies to leverage existing IT training and knowledge base while providing customers with flexible solutions that are easy to deploy, maintain and troubleshoot. Updates to attack signatures and the firewall are easier as well since both Intrusion.com software and Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 updates can be handled remotely and installed immediately.

“Our customers have told us they want to work with a security vendor that provides for their security needs by offering both flexibility and a high amount of commonality in the hardware and software of the product line,” said Ryon Packer, vice president of product management and marketing at Intrusion.com. “With the release of these new security appliances for SecureNet Pro and Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 with our PDS Pilot 2.0 management software, we can give our customers all of these benefits today at a lower price and lower total cost of ownership.”
