Sophos Selected By Corpex For Armourplate Anti-Virus Solution

Sophos, a world leader in corporate anti-virus protection, has today announced that its software has been selected by Corpex, the UK Internet hosting and solutions company. Corpex has chosen Sophos Anti-Virus to feature in its ArmourPlate anti-virus solution.

As part of the ArmourPlate service, Sophos’s virus engine will be used to provide customers with complete protection from Internet-borne viruses and malicious code.

“We chose Sophos Anti-Virus technology on account of its exceptional detection rates, ease of integration and its outstanding reliability,” said Tristan Palmer, Managing Director of Corpex. “This partnership will provide customers worldwide with a superior anti-virus solution which will guarantee the highest possible levels of security.”

“The continued threat posed by computer viruses emphasises the need for effective protection,” said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant for Sophos Anti-Virus. “Protection against Internet-borne viruses is a significant part of any security strategy and we are delighted to be part of the ArmourPlate solution.”

ArmourPlate is a dedicated anti-virus facility, which scans every email sent to and from any organisation at the Internet level. The ArmourPlate system scans communications for viruses prior to them reaching their destination. Any email that is suspected of being infected is then quarantined pending further instruction from the sender or the recipient.
