SiteStripper removes offensive web sites from the data stream at the network gateway and is an integrated appliance solution for the management of users’ World Wide Web access. By comparing users requests to a known, frequently updated, and customizable list of prohibited URLs, SiteStripper blocks objectionable websites. This stand-alone hardware solution utilizes Secure Computing’s SmartFilterâ„? technology and Ositis’ proprietary packet inspection and interception technology to scan requested URLs and to ban viewing of prohibited sites.
As a network bridge, SiteStripper inserts seamlessly into any TCP/IP network infrastructure for complete and instant protection against undesirable Internet usage. SiteStripper features Secure Computing’s SmartFilter international URL control list, which categorizes millions of Web sites into 30 distinct content groups, including pornography, gambling, chat and MP3. The SmartFilter list is updated twice per week over the Internet. SiteStripper enables organizations to enforce their Web-usage policy in real-time. The product allows logging, alerting and broad customization of prohibited site lists, as well as the segmentation of users into groups with different usage policies.
