Cyberguard Expands Presence In Northern Europe, Signs Distribution Agreement With Major European Partner

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., London, UK, and Copenhagen, DK (October 15, 2002) – CyberGuard Corporation (AMEX: CFW), the technology leader in network security, and EuroTrust A/S (Nasdaq: EURO) today jointly announced an agreement appointing EuroTrust as CyberGuard’s value-added distributor across Scandinavia and four other European countries. EuroTrust specializes in security and antivirus solutions and is one of the leading worldwide affiliates of VeriSign.

Pat Clawson, president of CyberGuard, stated, “CyberGuard has seen increasing demand for our high-security, certified security appliances throughout Europe. There are more sales opportunities, and, as part of our distribution-in-depth channel strategy, we have identified key markets where we want to have major regional distribution partners. Both EuroTrust and CyberGuard focus on security. Having EuroTrust as our distribution partner allows us to offer our evaluated solutions in some of the markets where we have previously had limited distribution. Additionally, it enables CyberGuard to expand service and support capabilities in this region. We are pleased that EuroTrust has assigned a dedicated sales manager to head the sales effort for the territory.”

EuroTrust has an extensive telemarketing and sales organization and will focus on seven countries – Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, France, Austria and Switzerland. EuroTrust also has a strong service and support organization and has increased the number of its CyberGuard CFSA/CFSO trained engineers to provide comprehensive level 1 and 2 support throughout the region.

Brian Mertz Pedersen, chief operating officer of EuroTrust A/S, stated, “In the past, Alphasys, our French subsidiary, has sold CyberGuard’s firewall/VPN products in French-speaking European countries. This new agreement builds on what has already proven to be a successful relationship and makes these high quality, evaluated network security solutions available in new markets. We are constantly considering our customers’ security requirements and developing comprehensive solutions to meet those needs.”

Alphasys’ many customers include large enterprises such as banking organizations and government administrations (both defense and interior), as well as small and medium size enterprises such as Lafi, Corporate Software, Computacentre, Cartel (SGBI), Alcatel and Tech Data.
