Sophos, a world leader in corporate anti-virus protection, announced today that its award-winning virus finding technology has been deployed by LYNX Express, the UK’s largest independent parcel carrier.
Red Networks, a Sophos-certified partner, worked alongside Sophos to complete the deal with LYNX Express. LYNX Express is using Sophos Anti-Virus, MailMonitor and Enterprise Manager at 40 sites throughout the country to protect its workstations, servers and email gateway from more than 78,000 viruses, Trojan horses and worms.
Prior to Sophos’s deployment, LYNX Express was relying on Network Associates for its virus protection. LYNX Express selected Sophos after an extensive evaluation of both products and due to Red Networks’s expertise in managing major software deployments.
“Companies like Lynx Express often need a customised solution,” said Sean Kelly, Southern Sales Director for Red Networks. “Our job at Red Networks is to understand a customer’s requirements and make sure we meet every one of them.”
“Computer systems are absolutely key to LYNX Express’s core business – any network downtime caused by a virus infection would impact significantly on the service our customers receive,” said Rob Leadbeater, technical analyst at LYNX Express. “We chose anti-virus protection from Sophos – not just because of its record for blocking viruses – but because of the ease and frequency of its updates and its 24 hour a day customer support. Red Networks was instrumental in ensuring this protection met our specific needs.”
