SecureInfo Wins $8.3 Million Air Force Computer Network Defense Contract

Contract to Support the Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – January 22, 2003 – SecureInfo Corporation, a leader in providing comprehensive enterprise information security management solutions, announced today that the Commander of the 33rd Information Operations Squadron, a subordinate organization of the 67th Information Operations Group at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, has awarded the Company an $8.3 million contract to provide cybersecurity management solutions for the Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team (AFCERT).

Under the terms of the contract, which includes one base year and four option years, SecureInfo will provide the expertise and critical skill sets necessary to deploy, analyze and operate the network monitoring capabilities for the AFCERT. As the response force that isolates and contains suspicious or intrusive activity on all United States Air Force networks worldwide, the AFCERT is the single point of contact for the assessment, reporting, analysis and handling of all computer security incidents and vulnerabilities. It has been used as a model for cyberprotection centers and enterprise-level incident response operations across the globe for over a decade.

“The SecureInfo team brings a superior level of incident analysis and response expertise to the AFCERT contract, which represents the third major Federal information security project awarded to our Company within the past six months,” said William A. Bernart, SecureInfo’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We are proud to have been chosen by the AFCERT and will continue to play a key role in supporting some of our nation’s most critical Cyber Homeland Security initiatives.”

Kevin M. Drummonds, Executive Vice President of Services for SecureInfo, commented, “During the past decade, many of our key employees have played vital roles in the development of the AFCERT. Our team’s proven security expertise will empower the AFCERT to continue its history of success as the premier incident response team in the world.”

In November, SecureInfo and Veridian were awarded the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) $10.8 million task order to support the Federal Computer Incident Response Center (FedCIRC). FedCIRC is an agency to be incorporated into the Department of Homeland Security. In August, the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) awarded a landmark $103 million Computer Incident Response Center (VA-CIRC) contract to a team led by SecureInfo Corporation, which is now expected to exceed $250 million over the term of the contract.
