Intrusion Inc. Sets New Benchmark for Network IDS Simplicity and Manageability
RICHARDSON, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–June 17, 2003–
Intrusion SecureNet WBI 2.0 Encapsulates All Network IDS Sensor Functions into an Easy-to-Use Web Browser Interface Making IDS Management as Simple as Surfing the Web
Furthering the commitment of providing enterprises and governments with the only common criteria certified, best of breed network intrusion detection, Intrusion Inc. (Nasdaq:INTZ), a leading provider of intrusion detection solutions for the information-driven economy, today announced the next generation of network IDS usability with Intrusion SecureNet WBI 2.0. SecureNet WBI (web-ee) is now the only interface required for the Intrusion SecureNet Sensors — shortening the total time to deployment and simplifying Sensor administration.
Intrusion SecureNet WBI 2.0 encapsulates everything required for the Intrusion SecureNet Sensor to operate: operating system, drivers, IDS application and signatures. With SecureNet Sensors you don’t have to think about drivers, patches, hot fixes or service packs — everything is covered in SecureNet WBI’s access-from-anywhere Web browser interface. Making sure the system is up to date is just a click, or you can schedule when your Sensor appliance updates itself using the secure Intrusion update site or an internal update site. For any size deployment, WBI 2.0 provides a tremendous reduction in the amount of resource and training required to implement and manage an intrusion detection system.
“Intrusion has been focusing on making our best-of-breed protocol decode detection technology easier to access and more intuitive to administrate. SecureNet WBI 2.0 is a pinnacle release for this ongoing effort and will greatly reduce resources required for enterprise IDS deployments,” said Ryon Packer, vice president of product management, business development and marketing for Intrusion Inc. “By encapsulating everything the Sensor requires under a single, simple Web browser interface we have taken much of the total cost of ownership out of network IDS and expanded the market that can make use of IDS technology.”
Intrusion SecureNet WBI 2.0 also provides a monitoring and reporting function, creating a completely standalone network intrusion detection system. For small- and medium-sized sites, this is a breakthrough solution — receiving the benefits of network IDS with no infrastructure required beyond the IDS appliance. For enterprise deployments, SecureNet WBI provides simplified distance-management with an ability to monitor site-specific events locally.
Packer continued, “With SecureNet WBI 2.0 on top of our leading line of Sensor appliances, Intrusion is uniquely positioned to provide a solution for small and medium business that are wrestling with new regulatory requirements like HIPAA for health care providers and payers as well as GLBA, FDIC and Patriot Act requirements for financial institutions.”
Intrusion SecureNet WBI 2.0 is the only interface you need for staging, configuring, managing and monitoring any of the Intrusion SecureNet Sensors, from the Gigabit, Common Criteria EAL 2 certified SecureNet 7345 CC, through the 250Mb/s and 100Mb/s solutions to the 10Mb/s SecureNet 2245. Network intrusion detection has never been more accessible and more usable.
The entire SecureNet Sensor family with Intrusion SecureNet WBI 2.0 is available now from Intrusion Resellers and Distributors across the globe. SecureNet WBI 2.0 is included with a SecureNet Sensor appliance at no additional charge. Prices for Sensors range from under $3,000 for hardware and software combined systems to in the mid-twenties for the Common Criteria EAL2 certified Intrusion SecureNet CC 7345.
Intrusion SecureNet Provider is also available priced per Sensor under management, freeing the enterprise to architect the system without additional cost for redundant or tiered management.
