Hospital District of Varsinais-Suomi Implements SSH’s Digital Authentication Technology
HELSINKI, FINLAND; PALO ALTO, Calif. and TOKYO – August, 12, 2003 – SSH Communications Security (HEX:SSH1V), a world-leading developer of managed security middleware, today announced a partnership with Fujitsu Invia to provide SSH Certifier(TM) PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) solution to healthcare organizations in the Nordic countries. The Hospital District of Varsinais-Suomi is the first healthcare organization to purchase and deploy the SSH Certifier solution through Fujitsu Invia.
Providing highly specialized healthcare services such as cardiac surgery, neurosurgery and radiotherapy to patients in the southwest region of Finland, Hospital District of Varsinais-Suomi needed a comprehensive, reliable security solution to enable the use of smart cards and digital certificates for strong, two-factor authentication to health-care applications and secure network login. The hospital district selected SSH Certifier as part of a comprehensive healthcare IS solution from Fujitsu Invia because of its robust security, strong standards-based authentication and ease of configuration and scalability capabilities.
“We chose SSH Certifier among a number of other digital authentication solutions based on the flexibility and scalability we needed, along with the assurance and peace of mind in knowing that our company and patient files would be protected from unauthorized access.” said Yrj?¶ Koivusalo, Hospital District of Varsinais-Suomi. “We needed to secure confidential patient data over public networks, and as industry leaders, Fujitsu Invia and SSH assured us of a best of breed solution to fit our needs.”
