Zix Corporation Signs BryanLGH Medical Center to Three-Year Contract for Secure e-Messaging
DALLAS – Nov. 21, 2003 – Zix Corporation (ZixCorpâ„?), (Nasdaq: ZIXI), a global provider of protection, management, and delivery solutions for electronic communications, today announced that BryanLGH Medical Center, a nonprofit healthcare organization based in Lincoln, Nebraska, has signed a three-year contract with ZixCorp for email protection services. The medical center chose ZixCorp to uphold prudent business practices, support its email security policies, and comply with the security regulations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
BryanLGH purchased ZixVPM® (Virtual Private Messenger) and ZixPortâ„? communications protection services for 1,000 users, which will ensure company-wide email security. ZixVPM is a server-based email security solution that provides automatic encryption of incoming and outgoing emails based on company security policy and ZixPort will provide custom branding and encrypted message functionality to BryanLGH’s existing Web portal.
“We looked at various methods to secure our communications, and realized that managing certificates would create a high resource requirement.
