Corestreet and nCipher Develop Integrated Real-Time Digital Credentials Validation Solution

nCipher plc (LSE: NCH) a leading provider of cryptographic IT security and CoreStreet, a leading provider of validation and authorization technology, today announced a partnership to deliver an integrated solution for validating digital credentials used to secure computer systems and physical locations. This solution is capable of providing secure dynamic management of digital credentials for millions of users – in both online and offline situations – within existing security frameworks and applications. Perfectly suited for government agencies, financial services companies and global 1000 companies, the combined product, incorporating tamper-resistant FIPS 140-2 certified hardware security, is available immediately.

The integrated product combining CoreStreet’s Real Time Credential Validation Authority (RTC VA) and nCipher’s industry-leading nShieldâ„? hardware security module (HSM), provides companies with a double layer of security for protecting private keys while authorizing an individual’s attempt to gain access to a digital or physical secured location. During the validation of a digital certificate, private cryptographic keys are stored inside nCipher’s HSM, eliminating the need to distribute the certificates on multiple insecure servers. The end result is a faster and more secure validation process from beginning to end.

“CoreStreet’s partnership with nCipher immediately provides many current customers in the government and financial services sectors, and the industry as a whole, with a tamper-resistant security product that is not only interoperable but highly scalable,” according to Paul Ohrenberger, senior vice president of sales and marketing at CoreStreet. “Adding an extra layer of security in authorizing one’s access or denial of access to a secured location will keep fraudulent individuals on the outside looking in.”

“Developing a solution with CoreStreet utilizes their highly scalable and secure validation technology. Combining it with nShield, validated to FIPS 140-2 level 3, one of the most stringent standards in the security industry, offers companies the best of both worlds,” said Richard Moulds, vice president of marketing at nCipher. “Authorization and cryptography are two of the most important security business processes in play today and nCipher’s products protect the sensitive cryptographic keys in an impenetrable hardware box, adding an unprecedented level of security to any software product.”

As part of the partnership, CoreStreet will resell nCipher’s HSM to potential government and financial services customers. Both products are available today. For pricing information call CoreStreet at 617 661-3553 or 703 245-8505 or nCipher at 800-NCIPHER.
