The study guide provides the first comprehensive preparation for information security professionals planning to take the recently updated exam for (ISC)2’s Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), considered the Gold Standard of security certifications, from the organization that created and administers the exam. The book is based upon the international consortium’s recently updated (ISC)2 CBK, the international compendium of industry “best practices” for information security professionals, for which (ISC)2 is the guardian.

The Guide is available online from the (ISC)2 “Company Store” at http://www.isc2.org/cgi/content.cgi?category=78 as well as through both online and retail booksellers worldwide. Suggested retail price is $69.95.

“(ISC)2 Press extends the range of services we offer our current and prospective constituents for professional growth and career development,” said Dow A. Williamson, CISSP, director of communications for (ISC)2 based in Vienna, Va. “As the size and complexity of the information security field continues to grow, (ISC)2 Press publications will contain the most current information security best practices as well as instruction in specialized areas of expertise.”

(ISC)2 Press will expand its offerings in 2004 to include the Official (ISC)2 Study Guides for the Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) and the Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEPCM) exams. The (ISC)2 Journal, containing peer-reviewed articles, white papers and case studies by (ISC)2 constituents, will also debut in 2004 from the consortium’s publishing arm.

“The (ISC)2 Journal will be a high-end, peer-review journal for information security professionals, and offers an excellent opportunity for our constituents to receive professional recognition, develop peer networks and interact with other information security professionals on a global scale,” Williamson said. “We are very pleased to be working with Auerbach Publications on these (ISC)2 Press initiatives.”
