Trapeze Networks Announces New President And Chief Executive Officer

PLEASANTON, Calif. – January 21, 2004 – Trapeze Networks today announced that James W. Vogt has been named president, CEO and member of the board of the award winning wireless local-area networking (WLAN) company.

Vogt will focus Trapeze’s worldwide operational performance, competitive market positioning and strategic business direction as Trapeze continues to increase momentum in the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific regions. He takes over for Jim Flach, who is retiring.

Vogt brings a wealth of business and technology experience to Trapeze. Prior to joining Trapeze, he was president and CEO at Ingrian Networks, where he led the privately held secure appliance firm through two rounds of funding, built up the company’s internal infrastructure and established a solid customer base.

He also was president of the Nortel Networks small business solutions group, a $1.5 billion organization with its own global sales force. Before Northern Telecom merged with Bay Networks to become Nortel, he was vice president and general manager of Bay’s workgroup product and distributed network systems divisions, and vice president of product management for Bay’s desktop products group.

Vogt holds a bachelor of sciences degree in electrical engineering from the University of Nevada and a master’s degree in business administration from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California.
