Lancope Extends Stealthwatch Product Line For Expanded, Cost-Effective Network Protection

ATLANTA, Ga.- Lancope, Inc., the leading provider of behavior-based threat detection and network intelligence solutions, today announced the general availability of its extended StealthWatch(tm) product line, which offers enhanced network integrity and expanded performance in response to overwhelming demand from customers, prospects and partners. The newly segmented product line will improve the network security of distributed Global 2000 organizations and deliver behavior-based network protection for the Small and Medium Business (SMB) market.

Lancope now offers three primary models of its StealthWatch appliance, the M45, the M250 and the G1. The G1, designed for gigabit networks, supports both fiber and copper interfaces. The M250 and M45 are designed for fast Ethernet networks with high or low levels of utilization. Customers can also select extreme versions of Lancope’s M250 and G1 models, which provide additional monitoring ports, redundant power and RAID-5 storage capabilities. Lancope’s product segmentation enables customers to cost-effectively expand protection of their networks and accommodate varying access, throughput and fault-tolerance demands.

“Our extended StealthWatch product line allows customers to better meet the deployment needs of their highly distributed networks by providing more efficient security coverage and network awareness throughout the network,” said Harland LaVigne, president and CEO of Lancope. “Furthermore, we are now able to deliver appropriate price and performance options for the SMB market, which represents an attractive but untapped opportunity for next-generation security solutions such as StealthWatch.”

LaVigne added, “This new offering is also ideally suited for our channel partners. It gives them greater flexibility, enabling them to further serve existing customers or accelerate their expansion into the SMB market.”

According to Jody Brazil, vice president and chief technology officer with FishNet Security, the largest privately held network security integrator in the Midwest, “The new range of StealthWatch appliances will allow enterprises of all sizes to affordably deploy network protocol and bandwidth monitoring for security and performance events as well as detect communications policy violations. The addition of the low-end appliance broadens Lancope’s market reach, offering small enterprises an affordable and effective solution. The redundancy and expandability in the new M250 and G1 appliances answers the performance demands of the larger enterprises.”

Lancope also offers the StealthWatch Management Console(tm) for centralized management of enterprise-wide StealthWatch deployments with support for appliances across the extended product line. In addition, customers still have the option of adding Therminator, the real-time network activity visualization technology, to any StealthWatch appliance. Current customers will continue to receive product support for existing StealthWatch installations.
