Mirage Networks Secures $13M in Series B Funding

Austin, TX – August 2, 2004 – Mirage Networks, Inc., the pioneer in security solutions for Interior Network Defense, today announced that it closed $13M in its Series B round of funding, led by Trinity Ventures. Current investors Adams Capital Management and CenterPoint Ventures also participated in the round. Mirage Networks will use these funds to accelerate product development initiatives, grow its sales and support organizations, and expand marketing and business development activities.

“Mirage Networks has had impressive traction in the marketplace for its first product release,” said Tim McAdam, General Partner, Trinity Ventures. “The company’s network-based technology for containing worm outbreaks and LAN attacks is truly differentiated compared to other technology we have come across in the security market. With its world-class management and product development teams, we are confident that Mirage Networks will solidify its leadership in the internal network security arena, providing practical solutions that fill critical security gaps being exploited by new, aggressive attacks on corporate networks.”

“We were extremely pleased with the interest from the VC community during this round of funding,” said Toney Jennings, President and CEO of Mirage Networks. “The investment from Trinity, a leading venture firm with proven experience and success in the security industry, is great validation of both our technology and our market opportunity. This funding will enable us to continue to drive innovation and dramatically increase market adoption of our solutions.”

Since launching its flagship product in December 2003, Mirage Networks has achieved significant success in terms of both market acceptance and technology innovation. The company has:
