F-Secure Partners with Swiss cable Operator Cablecom

Cablecom is the largest provider of cable communication services in Switzerland and was the first Swiss company to offer broadband Internet. Cablecom provides 250,000 Internet subscribers with broadband connectivity and partners with F-Secure to offer their customers first-class protection against a wide range of potential Internet dangers. In contrast to dial-up users, broadband Internet users are always online and are therefore also more vulnerable to outside attacks.

Digital communication threats caused by new Internet malware are constantly increasing. Already today, over 100,000 viruses exist and more than ten new viruses are discovered daily. Additionally, online users who use broadband connections face acute dangers of being victims of hacker attacks. Many Internet users are still unaware that viruses do not spread via e-mail only. While connected online, threats like viruses and worms originating from a wide range of sources including Internet surfing can also infect the user’s computer.

“F-Secure is a competent partner for the delivery of Internet security services such as antivirus, firewall and antispyware. In the future, we will plan several joint projects in the range of broadband security. With F-Secure, we found a partner whose Internet security software has been internationally distinguished for several times. This permits us to support our customers in a competent way to achieve a safe Internet experience”, says Rainer Staub, Head Product Management Internet, Cablecom GmbH.

More and more service providers are gradually acknowledging the benefits of partnering with F-Secure. F-Secure is constantly entering new territories successfully, while reinforcing the position in the existing markets at the same time. During the last six months service providers in 6 new countries, including Canada, Turkey, USA, Greece, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, have chosen F-Secure as their security partner. Overall, 40 service provider partnerships have been announced and 16 of those during the last six months. This makes F-Secure the fastest growing company in the world in offering security services through service providers.

F-Secure’s strategic business concept of offering cutting-edge security solutions through outsourced services to Internet users is gaining in popularity. For the future, F-Secure envisages increasing opportunities for those service providers wishing to expand their end user service offering with cutting-edge security solutions.
