Brea, California – January 19, 2005 – Apani Networks, a leading provider of in-depth security solutions for enterprise and small-to-medium business, announced today the release of the Apani Networks VPN Client v3.1.1 for secure connection to Nortel VPN Routers (formerly known as Contivity Secure IP Services Gateways). This version adds support for Linux Kernel-Source 2.6.
Apani Networks VPN Client establishes secure connections to the Nortel VPN Router gateway from multiple operating systems including the latest versions of Linux. This client software enables user-level authentication, virtual IP address assignment, NAT traversal, and remote policy update and administration. The VPN client also provides for granular control of access policies and denial or termination of client connections.
System Administrators installing the VPN client can use pre-configured files for setting address and security parameters. Use of Digital Certificates and RSA SecureID is also supported.
“With the Linux market pushing 44% CAGR, we believe it is essential for us to support this operating system,” said Chris Chen, VP of Sales for Apani Networks. “The Apani VPN client gives traveling or home-based Linux users the security they need to do business anywhere.” *
