Market Innovator Defines Program that Utilises Key Partners’ Domain Expertise to Simplify Delivery of Identity Management Solutions by Converting Services into Software

LONDON, UK – 16 February, 2005 (RSA Conference 2005) – Thor Technologies, provider of identity management solutions for enterprise provisioning, today announced the launch of its Resource Adapter Certification Program (RACP). The RACP addresses the problem of integrating identity management solutions with customers’ heterogeneous infrastructure by converting integration tasks that would otherwise be delivered to clients as professional services into software components called resource adapters.

The RACP provides a range of services to customers and consulting partners, including Xellerate resource adapter development training, developer support, development templates and best practices, consulting services and online user group forums. This enables Thor’s customers to more fully leverage the value of Thor’s partners’ intellectual property, greatly reducing the cost and complexity associated with Xellerate-powered identity management deployments. Initial RACP partners include MphasiS and Wipro, and Thor expects to expand the program with additional certifications in the second half of 2005.

Partner certification within Thor’s RACP is based on a set of criteria measuring a partner’s proficiency in resource adapter development and deployment that results in customers’ successful implementation of identity management solutions. The requirements for partner certification include: operating a state-of-the-art lab and development facilities; running the latest version of Xellerate, adhering to software development best practices; demonstrating availability of instances for specific target resources; and maintaining personnel with Xellerate deployment and Adapter Factory experience. By extracting value from its unparalleled partner ecosystem, Thor enables its customers to benefit from the intellectual property of its partners through a reduction in implementation costs, ready access to a substantially increased set of resource adapter and the ability to customise these adapters. These resource adapters reduce the risks of implementation and enable Thor and its partners to deliver a credible, best-in-class identity management solution.

“We are pleased to partner with Thor as a premier RACP partner,” said Mohan Krishnan, president and group CTO, MphasiS. “Our goal is to assist clients in innovating and streamlining their business processes by offering custom solutions for technology and operations outsourcing. Security is becoming an even more important component of our go-to-market strategy and Thor’s thought leadership provides us with a conduit for converting existing expertise into tangible customer value. Our role in developing and supporting Thor Xellerate resource adapters meets both our own business objectives and benefits our customers, as they deploy identity management solutions.”

K.R.Sanjiv, the vice president of Wipro’s E-enabling Division said, “Through deep domain expertise and robust knowledge transfer systems, we ensure that we understand our customers’ needs well. By partnering with Thor and getting certified under their Resource Adapter Certification Program, we are able to aid customers to deploy provisioning solutions rapidly for a wide variety of enterprise systems, thereby streamlining user management and control processes effectively and enabling them to raise productivity levels.”

“Thor understands the difficulty of managing who has access to what across the disparate and heterogeneous IT infrastructure that our customers increasingly rely on and we’re taking proactive steps to ensure that they can successfully deliver their identity management initiatives,” said J. Alberto Yépez, chairman and CEO, Thor Technologies. “The strength of this program is attributable to the foundation built on our unparalleled partner ecosystem. The establishment of certified best practices for the development of Xellerate resource adapters benefits our valued customers, as they are able to obtain significant return on their investment by integrating numerous and often disparate resources.”
