Trapeze Networks Reaches Market Milestones, Announces Further EMEA Expansion

PLEASANTON, Calif. – February 28, 2005 – Trapeze Networksâ„?, the award-winning wireless local-area networking (WLAN) company, today announced a number of significant milestones, further demonstrating its continued success in Europe.

Since launching its European headquarters operations from Hilversum, The Netherlands, in April 2003, Trapeze has aggressively driven Wi-Fi innovation and market acceptance, delivering its WLAN systems to over 300 customers worldwide including more than a dozen countries in EMEA, from Denmark to the United Arab Emirates. In the process, Trapeze has signed over 100 business partners worldwide, including pan-European integrators like Telindus and Imtech.

Trapeze WLAN systems deliver wireless capabilities to some of the most prestigious institutions in the world, such as Le Rosey academy in Switzerland and Independent Television News (ITN) in the United Kingdom. The company is also behind one of Europe’s largest WLAN deployments – with over 430 access points (AP) – at La Coruna University in Spain, and has provided the WLAN infrastructure for some of the most recognized brands in the world, such as Logitech and the Discovery Channel.

Leveraging its outsta
nding 2004 sales momentum, Trapeze will expand its European presence this year by opening additional sales offices in the Nordic region, Central Europe and Southern Europe, as well as an inside sales organization in the United Kingdom. The only WLAN vendor with a dedicated, multilingual technical support team serving the U.K. and Europe, Trapeze will also expand its service and training organizations to support its growing customer base.

In support of its expansion plans, Trapeze today also announced the appointment of Richard Bayton as country manager of the U.K. and Nordic region. Working in conjunction with U.K. sales manager Alistair Mutch and regional pre-sales manager Tiho Strbac, Bayton will report directly to Kees van Veenendaal, managing director and vice president of EMEA sales. Bayton will develop Trapeze’s channel presence in the U.K. and Nordic region and raise awareness of the business benefits of WLAN mobility solutions.

“Since Trapeze launched in Europe, we have steadily developed our business through product innovations and a dedicated sales team,” said Van Veenendaal. “Richard’s appointment enables us to further our drive into the U.K. and Nordic region by building our network of channel partners”.

Bayton has 15 years of sales and management experience in the data communications and networking industry. As head of EMEA channel development and sales at VegaStream, he consistently increased channel revenue figures and built excellent relationships with some of the most forward-thinking enterprise channels, service providers and carriers.
