Juniper’s security product now supports 802.1X and Trusted Network Connect specs
Juniper Networks today extended its commitment to open standards for network access control through its new Unified Access Control (UAC) 2.0 solution. With today’s announcement of UAC 2.0, Juniper Networks has delivered the industry’s first vendor-agnostic, standards-based network access control solution that features integrated support for both 802.1X and the Trusted Network Connect (TNC) open specifications.
By teaming with network infrastructure and security vendors pledging support for the TNC standards, as well as the IEEE 802.1X standard, Juniper is providing a comprehensive and flexible approach to network access control that enables enterprises to maximize their investments in best-in-class infrastructure, lower total cost of ownership and improve their overall security posture.
“With our integrated 802.1X functionality and support for TNC, we are leapfrogging the competition with our UAC 2.0 solution,” said Hitesh Sheth, vice president of security products at Juniper Networks. “Juniper is helping to eliminate customers’ concerns about being locked into a single vendor for network infrastructure based on their choice of network access control solutions. The UAC 2.0 solution can be deployed into any 802.1X-enabled infrastructure and will interoperate with any TNC-compliant solution.”
