Y0YS Software has announced the immediate availability of Folder Security Personal 4.1, a fully-fledged security tool for Windows OS. Folder Security Personal (FSP) gives you a pain-free ability to lock, hide and password-protect files, folders and drives on PC and removable devices, such as USB drives, memory sticks, CD-RW, floppies, and notebooks. FSP is unique thanks to the protection of sensitive information in Safe Mode. It can also enable or disable the Registry Editor, default drives sharing, and files sharing via a local network.
Unlike some other programs from the same category, FSP secures all your personal data without collecting it in one special folder. Instead it builds a secure virtual perimeter around the data, regardless of its location. This may be your passwords, credit card numbers, images and any other information that needs to be protected. Another advantage of FSP is that it does not modify your hard disk to hide a folder, which excludes the mere possibility of data loss.
Proactive Spyware Defense is another useful protection tool in Folder Security Personal. It protects you from IE hijacking by repairing and preventing malicious changes on many options of the Internet Explorer, such as Start Page, Default Page URL, Window Title, Search Assistant, Customize Search, Context Menu and more. It also enables you to protect core Windows system files from being modified, deleted, or replaced by any spyware, adware, or computer virus. FSP prevents the installation of spyware, adware, Trojan horses and computer viruses in the system area and disallows installing programs to run automatically on Windows startup, as well as installing device drivers without your consent.
Using Folder Security Personal couldn’t be easier. Let’s say, for example, you want to protect a folder. Start the program, from the Protection Wizard dialogue menu choose the type of protection you want to use: No access & Invisible, No access & Visible, Read-only & Visible, Invisible or Read-only & Invisible. Click “Next”, and choose the folder by browsing. “Next” button again, and that’s it! The whole process takes less than 30 seconds!
