IBM leads the pack in the intrusion detection market
IBM announced that it has been recognized as the world leader in the intrusion detection and intrusion prevention market in 2007 in a new research service by global growth consulting company, Frost & Sullivan.
The research service, entitled “World Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems Markets,” examined the market penetration, long-term vision and competitive differentiators of over 40 market participants and found IBM ISS to be the leader with a 22 percent share of the global market.
With key market drivers including increasingly complex attacks, ongoing vulnerability discoveries, and the need for companies to comply with new legislation, Frost & Sullivan expects the worldwide IDS/IPS market to grow from $932 million in 2007 to $2.1 billion in the next five years.
