BlackBerry asset management, data protection and geolocation tracking

Absolute launched Computrace mobile for the BlackBerry platform, delivering asset management, data protection and geolocation tracking.

After Computrace Mobile is installed and activated on smartphones, it reports asset and location information every 30 minutes (geolocation is only performed with the prior consent of the device owner).

IT administrators can detect hardware and software changes on the smartphone, as well as run daily reports to see its locations using Google Maps within the secure Absolute Customer Center.

If a smartphone is lost or stolen, IT administrators can issue a Data Delete command. Upon receiving the Data Delete command, the Computrace Agent on the smartphone permanently deletes sensitive information.

Computrace Mobile is available for BlackBerry OS versions 4.2.1 and later, as well as all Windows Mobile 5 and 6 handheld devices. Computrace Mobile is available for $13.95 for a 1-year subscription.
