RSA Conference Europe 2010 announces keynote speakers

RSA Conference Europe 2010 announced its line-up of keynote speakers. The event is taking place from 12th -14th October 2010, at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel, UK.

Notable speakers include Richard A. Clarke, former senior White House Advisor and internationally recognised expert on security, including homeland, national and cyber security and counterterrorism; and Bruce Schneier, Chief Security Technology Officer, BT.

In his keynote, Richard A. Clarke, will discuss his experiences in the day to day fight against national and global security threats which not only endanger businesses but increasingly critical national infrastructure and entire nations as well. Mr. Clarke served the last three U.S. Presidents as a senior White House Advisor and was in office for 11 years.

Bruce Schneier, Chief Security Technology Officer, BT will be presenting a keynote focused on Security, Privacy, and the Generation Gap. He’ll examine how ideas of security and privacy will evolve as the next generation becomes even more reliant on the Internet than the present one.

The RSA Conference Europe closing keynote will be an unusual, entertaining and informative TV-style panel session moderated by information security expert (and RSA Conference Programme Committee Chair) Herbert “Hugh” Thompson, Ph.D.

The panel will include Bob Sullivan, author of two New York Times best-selling books on new scamming techniques, and Alexis Conran, magician and master of deception and star of the hit television show, “The Real Hustle”, on BBC 3.

The session will explain how users are constantly under the assault of scammers and discuss why seemingly smart people continue to fall for phishing emails, social engineering attacks and other scams, and what types of threats we can expect in the future.

Also confirmed to present keynote sessions are Adrienne Hall, General Manager, Microsoft Trustworthy Computing, Microsoft Corporation, Philippe Courtot, Chairman & CEO, Qualys Inc, Art Coviello, President, RSA The Security Division of EMC & Executive Vice President, EMC and Tom Heiser, Chief Operating Officer, RSA The Security Division of EMC.
