Brad Maiorino joins FireEye as Chief Strategy Officer

FireEye, the intelligence-led security company, announced the appointment of Brad Maiorino as Chief Strategy Officer, reporting to FireEye CEO Kevin Mandia.

Maiorino brings more than 25 years’ experience with diverse businesses and a track record of building and leading global cyber and risk management programs for large organizations.

As Chief Strategy Officer at FireEye, Maiorino will play a key role in influencing the FireEye & Mandiant product and solutions strategy based on customer needs. Maiorino will also work with FireEye customers to deploy cybersecurity and risk management solutions to combat today’s dynamic threat environment.

“Brad has built and run security programs for some of the largest organizations in the world, and he understands customer needs and constraints, as well as the pressure of going toe-to-toe with the most sophisticated adversaries in the world,” said Mandia.

“He is bringing this experience to FireEye with a focus on delivering solutions and technology that answer the question so many organizations struggle to answer – are they secure?”

Prior to joining FireEye, Maiorino most recently served as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Thomson Reuters, having held the same position at Target, General Motors, and General Electric. At Thomson Reuters, he was responsible for leading the company’s overall strategy and transformation of information security.

While serving as the Chief Information Security Officer for Target, he led the retail giant’s post-data breach response enabling a company-wide transformation and preparing the company to defend against today’s threats.

Maiorino also served as executive vice president in Booz Allen’s commercial business, responsible for helping the firm’s clients deploy cybersecurity and risk management solutions.

“FireEye is unique among security vendors because of our military-grade threat intelligence and capabilities to deliver world class solutions through technology,” said Maiorino.

“I am excited to draw on my experience as a customer to help sharpen how we deliver the combination of intel and services through technology and help take customers’ security programs from “best guess” to verifiable, risk-based programs.”

Maiorino is active in the industry in many facets of cyber security. He is on the Board of Directors of NETGEAR, holding the roles of chairman of the Cybersecurity Committee and member of the Audit Committee. Maiorino is also a member of the Aspen Cyber Strategy Group, and a faculty member for the World 50 NEXT Leader Program.
