(ISC)² appoints Clar Rosso as Chief Executive Officer
(ISC)² appointed Clar Rosso as the association’s new CEO. Rosso joins (ISC)² from the AICPA & CIMA, where she is executive vice president of engagement and learning innovation.
She will assume the role of CEO effective Oct. 1, to head up strategy and budget planning for 2021. Outgoing CEO David Shearer, CISSP, will remain with the association in an advisory role through the end of the year to assist in the transition and ensure the organization’s 2020 goals are accomplished.
“Cybersecurity professionals play a critical role in our global society, and I look forward to joining the dedicated team at (ISC)² to strengthen our value to members and associates through our certification programs, enriching learning experiences and much more,” said Rosso.

Rosso has more than two decades of experience helping professional associations and certifying bodies grow and strengthen member value. She joined the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) in 2013 and is responsible for developing global market and product strategies; identifying and creating new products, services and delivery platforms to advance the CPA and management accounting profession; and increasing the global competitiveness of members, firms and employers.
Prior to joining AICPA, Rosso worked as Chief Operating Officer of the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA) and the CalCPA Education Foundation. She had previously served as CalCPA’s division director of programs and communications.
Rosso earned a master’s degree from San Francisco State University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis.
