Byos appoints Rob Valiton as COO and John Bryant as Director of Enterprise Sales

Byos announced that Rob Valiton will become its new Chief Operating Officer and John Bryant its new Director of Enterprise Sales. Adding more than five decades of industry experience to the Byos leadership team, the hires demonstrate the company’s commitment to accelerating growth.

The announcement comes less than three months after Byos launched its Industrial μGateway (“micro-gateway”): a plug-and-play, legacy-compatible secure gateway edge for critical infrastructure.

“We are thrilled to have Rob and John come on board,” said Matias Katz, founder and CEO of Byos. “From product to sales, Rob has spent his career driving results across business functions, and John has lots of experience selling to CISOs. They both have a deep understanding of how to bring revolutionary products like Byos to market, and with the strong traction we’ve been seeing, we’re doubling down on our go-to-market execution plans.”

With more than 25 years of experience in the tech industry, Mr. Valiton’s expertise spans many market segments, including semiconductors, automotive, aerospace, IoT, security, industrial, and computing. Rob was SVP & General Manager at Atmel Corporation, a leading semiconductor manufacturer acquired by Microchip Technology in 2016 for $3.6 billion.

Before that, he was the SVP of Worldwide Sales at Silicon Image where he was responsible for making HDMI the market standardit is today. He also served as Board Observer and Business Advisor for Byos for almost two years before this appointment.

“I’m very excited to have joined the growing team at Byos,” said Rob Valiton. “Byos has created a solution that many in the industry have been trying for decades to achieve. Their novel approach to microsegmentation makes a complex technology simple to deploy, whether for legacy systems or for new embedded design applications that are coming to market. From my many years spent in Silicon Valley, I know how rare that combination is.”

Mr. Bryant has spent the last 27 years as the go-to first sales hire for founders of cybersecurity firms, he has guided multiple early stage startups from their first steps through successful exits.

“Byos has everything I was looking for in a startup” said John Bryant. “It is rare to find a founder that has created something completely new in Cyber, and critically relevant to the security challenges all CISO’s and security teams face. After listening to Byos customers, and getting to know the team, I am excited to come on board as we expand our presence in North America.”

In June, Byos announced the release of Industrial μGateway. The increasing use of IoT devices in industrial, medical, and other settings poses a substantial risk of cybersecurity attacks for the organizations that rely on them. Existing security solutions do not support legacy systems and leave industrial IoT devices vulnerable to lateral movement and ransomware.

Sitting between IoT endpoints and the network, the Industrial μGateway provides security through edge microsegmentation. This approach gives security, asset management, and secure remote access to connected devices without installing anything on the endpoints or changing the local network configuration.
