Critical Infrastructure Protection & Resilience Europe (CIPRE) 2025
This event brings together stakeholders from industry, operations, government, and relevant agencies to discuss the security and resilience of Europe’s critical infrastructure. Building on themes from previous events, the conference aims to improve understanding of current challenges and threats, and to support efforts in developing effective frameworks, risk management practices, and strategic planning approaches.
The reliable functioning of critical infrastructure is essential to public welfare and economic stability.
A key focus of the event will be the updated NIS2 Directive, which came into force in 2023. This directive expands on the original 2016 EU cybersecurity rules to address increased digitalization and a changing threat landscape. It broadens the scope of regulated sectors and entities, aiming to strengthen resilience and improve incident response across both public and private sectors.
Organizations identified as operators of essential services will be required to implement appropriate security measures and report significant incidents to national authorities. Key digital service providers — including cloud platforms, search engines, and online marketplaces — will also need to meet these security and reporting requirements under the directive.
