Cyber Security for Critical Assets (CS4CA) Canada 2026
In recent years, the cyber threat environment in Canada has changed significantly. Rising geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainty, and ongoing digital transformation across critical infrastructure sectors have contributed to increased exposure to cyber risk. Attacks on essential systems can have wide-ranging consequences, affecting not only organizational resources but also public safety and service continuity.
By late 2023, reported ransomware activity in Canada had exceeded the previous year, with thousands of organizations appearing on leak sites. While many companies have responded by increasing their focus on cybersecurity, gaps remain in preparedness and governance. Concerns have also grown around emerging technologies, including generative AI, which many organizations view as a potential operational risk. However, relatively few have established comprehensive policies or training programmes to address these challenges, underscoring the need for continued information sharing and collaboration.
The event brings together senior leaders responsible for cybersecurity across Canada’s critical infrastructure sectors, including energy, utilities, natural resources, healthcare, manufacturing, and transportation. The agenda has been developed with input from experienced practitioners and is centred on the practical and strategic issues facing these industries. Taking place over two days, it provides a forum for discussion, peer exchange, and examination of current approaches to protecting essential systems.
