Open Security Conference 2026

November 5-8, 2026
SeminarZentrum, Rückersbach, Germany

A community-led security event built around an Open Space format. It aims to make cybersecurity discussions and learning more approachable by creating space for people to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.

The organisers come from a range of cybersecurity and adjacent backgrounds, including software development, security engineering, consulting, and leadership roles. Having met through different community events, they shared a common frustration with the gatekeeping that can make security feel difficult to access for newcomers and practitioners from other domains.

The event was created to offer a more open and collaborative environment — one where participants with different roles, interests, and levels of experience can contribute equally and learn from each other.

As part of the Open Space format, there is no predefined agenda. Sessions are proposed and shaped by attendees during the event itself. Topics may include:

  • Secure software delivery practices
  • Penetration testing and red teaming
  • Security games and hands-on learning
  • Usability and accessibility in security
  • Continuous compliance
  • Network and cloud infrastructure security
  • Threat mitigation and risk management
  • Other topics brought forward by participants

The programme is co-created onsite, based on what attendees find most relevant at the time. Participants are encouraged to bring questions, ideas, challenges, and experiences to discuss with others.

In addition to participant-led sessions, the event will also feature keynote talks. Speaker and topic announcements will be shared closer to the event.
