Siemens Building Technologies Selects Rainbow’s SentinelLM to Secure SBT’s APOGEE Insight Software Solution

SentinelLM Provides Easy Implementation, Customization for SBT’s Facility Management Application

IRVINE, Calif., June 25, 2001 – The Digital Rights Management group of Rainbow Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: RNBO) a leading provider of high-performance security solutions for the Internet, eCommerce and software protection, today announced that Siemens Building Technologies (SBT), of Buffalo Grove, Ill., has selected Rainbow’s SentinelLM( electronic license management solution to secure SBT’s new revision of APOGEE Insight( software, a leading-edge facilities management application.

SBT sought a simple, yet highly customizable licensing-protection scheme in order to extend the life of SBT’s APOGEE Insight software product. In addition, SBT wanted a software-based license management solution that would last the useful lifetime of SBT’s APOGEE Insight(r) software product and would be easy for end users to understand and implement, and offer versatility in customizing the licensing distribution for each customer system. SBT needed to fully implement the new solution in time for a new major release of the Insight software version 3.3 scheduled for earlier this spring. SBT chose Rainbow’s SentinelLM.
