Whale Communications Teams with RSA Security to Protect e-Business

The e-Gap System and RSA SecurID Authentication Software Guard Enterprises’ Core Applications

FORT LEE, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–June 25, 2001–Whale Communications(R), a leader in Air Gap technology, today announced that it has joined the RSA Secured(TM) Partner Program to support interoperability between the e-Gap product line and RSA SecurID(R) authentication technology.

As part of the program, the e-Gap System’s family of products has been awarded “RSA Secured RSA SecurID Ready” certification, signaling its compatibility with RSA Security’s authentication technology. The RSA Secured certification lets organizations know that the e-Gap System’s product line is compatible with RSA Security’s market-leading security products and technologies.

Whale’s patent-pending Air Gap technology provides airtight security for real-time e-business, eliminating the need to open holes in corporate firewalls. Its flagship e-Gap System Enterprise Edition allows organizations to add a secure zone to their existing corporate network where they can place their most sensitive Internet applications and resources. The e-Gap Enterprise overlays authentication, encryption, decryption and authorization, offloading them from the applications themselves, reducing development time and ensuring rapid time-to-market. It also reduces the urgency for applying vendor patches to live production systems. The e-Gap Webmail System allows access to corporate email and collaborative applications anytime, anywhere, such as from an Internet kiosk or client site, without exposing the organization’s internal systems to potential outside threats. The e-Gap product family is securing the networks of enterprises engaging in e-business worldwide.

“The RSA Secured Partner Program is a leader in delivering essential security solutions to organizations,” said Vicki Kuo, Whale’s director of strategic alliances. “We are excited to be an RSA Secured Partner and look forward to working with RSA Security to protect e-business.”

Integrating the e-Gap System with RSA SecurID authentication software mitigates an enterprise’s risk of exposing its crown jewels to intruders while engaging in e-business. The e-Gap System’s multi-layer protection, including overlaying RSA Security’s strong authentication, protects an organization’s core information.

“We are excited to welcome Whale Communications to the RSA Secured Partner Program,” said David Kanto, director of partner development at RSA Security. “Our strategic partner program is one of the most aggressive and successful in the industry and we look forward to working with Whale Communications and its market-leading Air Gap technology to help deliver secure e-business solutions to our customers.”
