SOFTWIN Releases BitDefender Free Edition v.7
Bucharest, ROMANIA – May 9, 2002 – SOFTWIN, a leading provider of security related software and services, today announces the beta release of a new, free antivirus product, integrating its next generation of technologies for antivirus detection. Offering complete antivirus scanning features, BitDefender Free Edition v.7 also brings into play a skinable interface, allowing a product customization for each user.
Addressing the common problem of viruses spreading quickly among home users, BitDefender Free Edition v.7 combines the high performance technology offered by its new scanning engines with a new approach of the antivirus market. More personal, warm and familiar, it makes possible for the common users to get closer to the tricky world of data security.
“We thought about those people who either didn’t afford to buy a professional antivirus solution or just didn’t care enough about their own privacy to spend any money for it” says Daniel Ionescu, Data Security Division Manager at SOFTWIN. “We integrated the technology of a product already at its seventh version into a product that stimulates user’s inspiration and originality. We hope this association can build a sense of confidence among computer users, persuading them to protect themselves whenever they feel vulnerable” Ionescu concluded.
