Munich/Cambridge, May 21, 2002 – Kaspersky Labs, a renowned international data-security software developer, has assigned the European Business Development company MediaGold the task to enhance Kaspersky Labs’ presence and to increase market share for its line of boxed software products in the European retail market. The agreement is effective immediately and will first concentrate on German speaking territories, the UK and Spain.
The agreement, signed in April, assigns MediaGold the role of Kaspersky Labs’ representative and retail partner in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and the UK.
The deal’s main objective is to place the product line of Kaspersky Anti-Virus boxed software into virtually all available retail sales channels in order to reach varied market segments and to launch marketing and merchandising campaigns whose impact will dramatically accelerate and grow Kaspersky Labs’ worldwide presence. In addition MediaGold will hold responsibility for tracking retail outlets and increasing Kaspersky’s share of retail shelf space in each store.
For Kaspersky Labs the cooperation agreement with MediaGold represents a significant step toward fulfilling Kaspersky Labs’ goals of enhancing worldwide reputation, availability, distribution and market share for its boxed software products. The combined effort with MediaGold ensures a smoother transaction process between vendors and partners. Additionally, MediaGold will provide comprehensive sales support for Kaspersky Labs boxed products and as well as all promotional activities targeting both home and professional users.
