Check Point Next Generation receives Common Criteria, FIPS 140-1 and ITSEC Certifications, Exceeding Multi-National Government Security Requirements

The Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation (CCITSE) is a set of evaluation criteria agreed to by the United States’ National Security Agency/National Institute of Standards and Technologies and equivalent bodies in 13 other countries. This certification demonstrates Check Point’s commitment to protecting the US Federal Government’s critical information.

The Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-1 level 2 certification, administered by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) and the Communications Security Establishment (CSE) of the Government of Canada, specifies security requirements designed to protect against potential threats such as hacking and other cyber crimes. To receive accreditation conforming to European standards, Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 NG has achieved the following certification:

IT Security Evaluation Criteria (ITSEC E3), awarded by the Communications Electronics Security Group (CESG) of the United Kingdom. Meeting this internationally recognized standard demonstrates Check Point’s commitment to protecting information assets for government and industry across Europe.
