The Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation (CCITSE) is a set of evaluation criteria agreed to by the United States’ National Security Agency/National Institute of Standards and Technologies and equivalent bodies in 13 other countries. The Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-1 level 2 certification, administered by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) and the Communications Security Establishment (CSE) of the Government of Canada, specifies security requirements designed to protect against potential threats such as hacking and other cyber crimes. To receive accreditation conforming to European standards, Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 NG has achieved the following certification:
