Rainbow’s Sentinel SuperPro 6.3.0 Offers Cross-platform Support to Make Security Simple for Windows, Macintosh, Linux Software

World’s Best-selling USB Software Licensing Authentication Token Provides Improved Shell Process, New Interface Support and Easy Cross-platform Security

IRVINE, Calif., November 18, 2002 – Rainbow Technologies (Nasdaq: RNBO), a leading provider of products and solutions that make security simple for the Web, the network, and digital content, today announced the release of Sentinel SuperPro 6.3.0. Sentinel SuperPro 6.3.0 is a significantly enhanced version of the industry’s leading USB-based software licensing authentication token, with new cross-platform software security protection for programs that run on the world’s most popular computing platforms. The Sentinel SuperPro USB driver is Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) certified for Windows 2000 and Windows XP (32-bit) operation systems and will support software security developed for Linux and Macintosh operating systems by the end of 2002.

In addition, the Sentinel SuperPro 6.3.0 automatic protection, or shell, program offers more intuitive ease-of-use features that reduce the steps needed to select a software protection strategy and “wrap” an executable. The developer’s toolkit features an application programming interface (API) explorer that makes working with APIs easier, simpler and faster, offering developers some of the industry’s most flexible options for quickly securing an application. A new combo installer allows developers to more easily deploy Sentinel SuperPro security for their applications. The Sentinel SuperPro client can now directly communicate between the application and the SuperPro key on a local client computer. This feature provides a migration path and new access modes to optimize license management and improve security when upgrading to new keys.

Sentinel SuperPro 6.3.0 offers new interface support for .NET Object (VB.NET), Visual Studio 7.0, .NET Object (C#), MetroWerks CodeWarrior 3.0, Compaq Visual Fortran 6.6 and COM Object VC 6.0.

“As software security protection continues to transition towards the USB form factor, the new functionality and usability enhancements we’ve added to Sentinel SuperPro 6.3.0 will make software security simple for developers of Windows, Linux and Macintosh applications,” said David M. Lynch, vice president of worldwide marketing, Rainbow Technologies. “Sentinel is the de facto standard for software security, and we are committed to continue adding new features and improving its usability. It’s part of our corporate mission to make security simple and we believe that the Sentinel SuperPro simplifies a developer’s anti-piracy efforts with a high degree of security and is easy to both deploy and use.”
