ActivatorDesk Introduced as the First Dot-Kids Safe Internet Desktop Browser for Children

Last December President Bush signed the Dot Kids Implementation and Efficiency Act and now ActivatorDesk has responded to this call with the very first Dot-Kids safe Internet desktop browser for parents and educators. This is one of many new features introduced today with the release of a new Version 6 which works on all popular versions of Microsoft Windows.

ActivatorDesk has long used the basic idea of a ‘Safe Internet Zone’ or ‘Safe-Sites-Only’ concept for both children and the business enterprise. As President Bush stated at the signing, “This bill is a wise and necessary step to safeguard our children while they use computers and discover the great possibilities of the Internet. Every site designated .kids will be a safe zone for children. The sites will be monitored for content, for safety, and all objectionable material will be removed.”* Now ActivatorDesk is the first to integrate ‘.Kids’ domains using this method.

Studies by both Consumer Reports and the U.S. Congress have shown that most Internet filtering software generally fails to adequately protect against undesired content**, but with a ‘Safe Internet Zone’ one may be assured that a child isn’t readily allowed into the dark sides of the Internet.

World renowned inventor, R. Lee Heath, the designer of ActivatorDesk, stated, “We are pleased with this virtual endorsement of this important methodology which we have used for several years now. We are excited because any one can now deploy truly safe Internet on an average desktop even without MSN or AOL. The new version kills pop-up ads and instantly connects right into our acclaimed anti-spam anti-porn e-mail services, so a truly full desktop solution is offered.”

ActivatorDesk may use its large on-board list of safe kids sites called KidGrid, which now expands child safe zones automatically with ‘.kids’ domains from .Kids Domains, Inc. (http://www.kidsdomains.org) and ‘.kids.us’ domains soon to be available from Neustar (http://www.neustar.us/kids).

The product is available as a free 30-day trial download. Additional detailed information is available by visiting the ActivatorDesk web site at http://www.activatordesk.com
