Panda Software has widened its international network with the opening of new offices in Argentina. According to leading analysts including the UN and IDC, this year will see the sale of PCs and laptops in Argentina increase by between 17 and 20 percent, and Prince & Cooke, a Buenos Aires based market research firm, is predicting a rise of over 30 percent.

All signs show that the growth of the IT security market in the next few years will exceed even the stable levels of 2001, when the market had a total value of 16.5 million dollars, over thirty percent of which was accounted for by the antivirus sector. Experts’ forecasts for the future suggest that growth dates may even parallel the near 50 percent achieved in 2000.
