Colubris Networks and Funk Software Develop Integrated Security Solutions for Wireless LAN Service Providers
Alliance delivers industry-leading 802.1x and Wi-Fi Protected Access solutions that fortify WLAN security and simplify management
WALTHAM, MASS., APRIL 28, 2003 – Colubris Networks, a global provider of secure wireless networking solutions, and Funk Software, a leading developer of RADIUS/AAA and wireless LAN (WLAN) security software, today announced an alliance to develop and cooperatively market integrated WLAN security solutions. The alliance delivers to wireless service providers a turnkey security solution that supports the 802.1X and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) standards, plus all popular authentication standards in the industry.
Note, in a separate announcement released today, Funk Software said it is teaming with Colubris Networks and other partners to deliver Wi-Fi Protected Access support to joint customers.
Under the alliance, Funk Software has added vendor specific attributes (VSAs) for Colubris wireless access points to its industry-leading Steel Belted Radius® and Odyssey® 802.1x end-to-end security solutions. The Colubris-specific VSAs provide robust authentication information between Colubris access controllers and Funk Software’s RADIUS servers for complete security.
Additionally, Colubris has added support for Funk Software’s Odyssey Client 802.1x access client to its CN3000, the first and industry-leading integrated access controller and access point. This relationship provides support for virtually all of the major open authentication standards, including the extensible authentication protocol (EAP), protected extensible authentication protocol (PEAP), EAP-TLS and EAP-TTLS, while simplifying over-all security management. Products with these integrated security features are available immediately from Funk Software and Colubris.
