Zix Corporation was Selected by Atlantic Health System with a Three-Year Contract for Email Protection Services
Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(TM)), (Nasdaq:ZIXI), a global provider of protection, management, and delivery solutions for electronic communications, today announced that Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey’s largest nonprofit healthcare systems, has chosen ZixCorp as its e-messaging services provider. The organization joins many other New Jersey-based healthcare providers and payors that have selected ZixCorp email protection services to help meet the security regulations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
Atlantic Health System signed a three-year contract for ZixVPM(R) (Virtual Private Messenger) for 500 users. ZixVPM will provide automatic, enterprise-wide encryption of incoming and outgoing emails based on company security policy and includes an advanced HIPAA lexicon that recognizes Protected Health Information (PHI) to help healthcare providers comply with the security mandates of HIPAA. The service elevates decision making for email security to the corporate level while enabling a secure and private channel for communication to physicians, partners, patients, and employees.

Atlantic Health is one of New Jersey’s largest employers with over 9,000 employees, 3,100 physicians, and 1,832 licensed beds in its four-hospital system.
