Eracom Technologies Managing Director Elected Chair of Australian IT Security Forum
Gold Coast, Australia – August 12, 2004 – Eracom Technologies, a leading developer and global supplier of cryptographic technologies and solutions recently announced the appointment of Dr Wolfgang Klemm as Chair of AEEMA’s Australian IT Security Forum (AITSF). AEEMA is the peak industry association representing local and international companies in the electrical, electronic and information and communication technologies (ICT) industries.
Over the commencing term, Dr Klemm will represent the interests of 10 board members and over 40 general forum members with the aim to promote information security within the Australian information economy. Dr Wolfgang Klemm will become a Board member of AEEMA’s ICT Australia Division which provides the opportunity for input into issues associated with e-security in telecommunications/wireless architecture.
The Australian IT Security Forum aims to promote security within the Australian information economy through the development of associated technologies, capabilities and services and to advance the Australian information security industry internationally. The AITSF represents a rapidly growing sector responding to the increase in demand for information security applications in the Communications, Internet and Electronic Commerce markets.
In response to being elected as Chair, Dr Wolfgang Klemm offered his thanks to AITSF board members stating, “I would like to offer you all my sincere thanks in presenting me the opportunity to represent the interests of all forum members. The Australian IT Security Forum (AITSF) was formed in 1996 with the objectives of promoting the development of a technologically advanced and viable IT&T security industry in Australia and the Asia-Pacific area. The Certification Forum of Australasia merged with the IT&T Security Forum in May 2002 to form the Australian IT Security Forum. AITSF is an operating Forum of the Australian Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (AEEMA).
