Vircom Tackles Phishing Frauds
Paris, France, 2nd February 2005 – Vircom, Inc., developer of Modus secure email management solutions, will host its first web seminar on email phishing fraud on Tuesday, February 8, 2005, at 5:pm UK time.
The free one-hour seminar will examine all elements of phishing emails, including actual examples caught by Vircom’s SpamBuster team as well as simple ways to recognize and avoid them. Attendees will discover what they can do to fight phishing using a combination of email security technology and end-user awareness.
“With instances growing at a rate of fifty percent every month, phishing has become a very serious form of email fraud,” said Francois Bourdeau, Vircom’s director of marketing. “We developed this seminar as a way to educate IT security personnel on the characteristics of phishing scams and to demonstrate how they can be proactive in eradicating the problem.”
Presenters
Vircom’s web seminar will be co-hosted by the following three presenters:
* Fran?§ois Bourdeau is Vircom’s director or marketing and is known for his straightforward approach to educating industry media and the general public about email security. He has co-authored several Vircom white papers and works closely with the SpamBuster team to analyze and report email scams.
* Marc Chouinard is head of the SpamBuster team. He oversees Vircom’s Internet spam monitoring efforts and ensures that the technology driving Vircom’s Sequential Content AnalyzerTM engine remains ahead of all the latest spam tactics.
* Michael Gaudette is director of product strategy for the Modus family of solutions. He combines an engineering background with a deep understanding of email security gained through constant contact with Vircom’s frontline clients.
