CISA Certification Recognized by National Stock Exchange of India

Rolling Meadows, IL, USA (6 June 2005)—In addition to achieving record-breaking exam registration for the 12th consecutive year—creating the first-ever need for two exams to be administered in one year—the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation has been recognized by two major business groups in India.

National Stock Exchange of India
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India has recognized the CISA designation as an integral facet of its system auditing guidelines. A circular released on 10 May 2005 requires members of NSE to submit, twice yearly, a system audit certificate obtained from a person holding the CISA, CISSP or ISA certification. The circular also notes that the systems audit shall include a compliance statement and cover requirements specified under CISA or a similar professional code of conduct.

Computer Emergency Response Team-India
As part of India’s National Information Security Assurance Program, the Department of Information Technology’s CERT-In is seeking security auditors with the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation to assess the information security risks in public sector organizations.

The CISA designation, offered by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), has been earned by more than 40,000 professionals since its inception. The CISA exam will be administered on 11 June 2005 in more than 220 locations around the world, including 11 sites in India. As of March 2005, more than 1,600 professionals in India were registered for this year’s CISA exam, a 40 percent increase from 2004. Worldwide, more than 19,000 professionals registered for the June 2005 CISA exam, a 40 percent increase from 2004.
