Utimaco Technology Gains Certification in Accordance with Leading US Security Standard

London, 5th July 2005 – Utimaco’s CryptoServer 2000 has been awarded certification from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the USA and the Communications Security Establishment (CSE) in Canada in accordance with Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2, Level 3. This important IT security standard for cryptographic modules is the world’s benchmark for both governmental bodies and companies in the private sector.

“This means that the certified CryptoServer 2000 now fulfils the highest national and international requirements for legally-compliant security for sensitive company IT applications,” explained Andreas Philipp, Deputy Vice President of Utimaco. “This certification provides organisations with an additional reliable and objective criterion to help them select the best IT security solutions for protecting their electronic assets and, therefore, also save themselves the time and effort spent in evaluating the available options.”
