These annual InfoWorld awards recognize individuals whose vision and expertise are directing the future of enterprise technology, and who have had a significant impact on the evolution of the technology world. In addition to being added to InfoWorld’s Innovators Hall of Fame, InfoWorld also honors several up-and-coming leaders. Final selections were made by the InfoWorld senior editorial staff.

Mr. Farmer has been involved in the computer industry for more than 20 years and is recognized worldwide as one of the leading experts in computer and network security. Mr. Farmer’s work includes serving as an expert witness and consultant for the recording industry in its case against Napster, advising the U.S. Department of Defense on protecting networks from cyber-terrorism in the wake of 9/11, and testifying before Congress regarding cybersecurity. Prior to that, he led network security at EarthLink for more than three years.
