Utimaco Presents its Results for Fiscal Year 2004/2005
Oberursel (Germany) and London (UK), 30 September 2005 – Utimaco today announced its final results for fiscal year 2004/2005 (1 July 2004 to 30 June 2005). The company, which specialises in IT security solutions, has succeeded in continuing its positive business development in the last fiscal year, far exceeding its result and revenue targets.
Revenue from the Personal Device Security division increased by 26.5 per cent to a total of € 26.7 million (previous year: € 21.1 million). The proportion of revenues achieved by its license sales showed disproportionately strong growth by 41.0 per cent. Due to the excellent development of its software business the segment result increased by 44.8 per cent to € 7.3 million (previous year: € 5.0 million).
The project business in the Transaction Security division also once again saw significant revenue growth, following an increase in revenue of 34.3 per cent, to € 8.8 million (previous year: € 6.6 million). At the same time, the segment result showed a major increase of 81.6 per cent to € 3.0 million (previous year: € 1.6 million).
Total consolidated sales equaled € 34.8 million (previous year: € 26.9 million), corresponding to a growth in revenues of 29.2 per cent.
The consolidated result also improved very positively, as a result of the excellent performance of both these divisions. The operating profit (EBIT) also increased to € 5.9 million, twice that of the previous year.
The EBIT margin improved from the previous year’s 11.0 per cent to 17.0 per cent. The earnings per share (EPS) equaled € 0.42 (previous year € 0.26).
After twelve months a positive operating cash flow of € 6.4 million (previous year: € 3.3 million) was achieved. Liquid assets increased by € 5.9 million to € 22.4 million in the reporting period. As a result Utimaco has available considerable financial resources that form a solid basis for continued successful growth in the future.
For the current fiscal year 2005/2006 the company also plans to once again achieve a double-digit growth and also to achieve a moderate improvement in its results despite increasing investments in research and development and also in sales and marketing.
