Apani Networks Joins the Microsoft Network Access Protection Program
BREA, Calif. – Dec. 12, 2005 – Apani Networks, the leading enterprise network security software provider focused on securing inside the network perimeter, today announced that the company is the newest member of Microsoft’s Network Access Protection (NAP) initiative. Microsoft Network Access Protection represents a set of best-of-breed technologies that enable users to securely access corporate-critical data and applications on enterprise networks.
Microsoft Network Access Protection technology allows an organization’s systems administrators to both monitor and control access to corporate network resources, and provide an easy way to update non-compliant PCs. Through best-of-breed solutions, companies reduce their security risks through comprehensive end-to-end computer security and policy compliance.
“Apani EpiForce complements Network Access Protection, allowing customers with large, distributed environments to benefit from the inside perimeter security it provides,” said Mike Schutz, group product manager, Windows Server Division at Microsoft. “Apani’s participation in Network Access Protection will help deliver improved network security and secure corporate-critical information assets—addressing the security and regulatory compliance concerns of IT organizations.
Apani EpiForce will integrate with the Microsoft Network Access Protection technology on both the client and server side to ensure security relationships are effectively enforced while delivering a trouble free user experience. Operating at the network layer and securing the environment without the use of gateways, EpiForce is designed to manage large numbers of policies within distributed computing environments, enforcing network-wide point-to-point connectivity, logical network segmentation and encryption of data-in-motion, all from a comprehensive centralized management system.
“We believe Network Access Protection complements Apani’s approach to securing inside the network perimeter and the integration of EpiForce with Microsoft Network Access Protection technology will result in a strengthened security solution for protecting inside the perimeter,” said James Chou, chief technology officer, Apani Networks.
EpiForce operates at the network layer, so is transparent to both users and applications, requiring no modification to existing software applications, including CRM, ERP and Inventory tracking systems.
